Little Linguist Privacy Policy
Overview
Little Linguist (the “App”) is made by Nula Labs, a studio operated by CHICAKE LLC (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes and how we use it.
Summary
- Built for parents and caregivers to use with young children.
- Core learning features work offline; learning progress, session history, and parent settings are stored on your device.
- No ads and no in-app purchases.
- We do not use personal information for advertising or marketing.
- iOS App Store builds keep core usage local on-device and do not use Firebase anonymous authentication, Firebase Remote Config, or Firebase Analytics.
- Android builds may use Firebase for anonymous authentication, remote feature configuration, analytics for internal operations when enabled, and related service operations.
Who the App is for
The App is designed for parents and caregivers to use with young children. We do not provide user accounts for children, and we do not ask children to share personal information.
Information we collect
Information you provide
We do not require you to provide your name, email address, phone number, or other profile details to use the App.
If you contact us for support, we will receive the information you choose to share (for example, your email address and message).
Information processed by the App
The App stores learning progress, session history, and parent settings on your device.
Technical information and identifiers
iOS App Store builds
iOS App Store builds of the App are designed so core learning activity, settings, and session history remain stored locally on the device. Those iOS builds do not use Firebase anonymous authentication, Firebase Analytics, or Firebase Remote Config for app operation.
If you contact us for support, we will receive the information you choose to share with us in that support request.
Android builds
Android builds of the App may connect to Firebase (a Google service) for anonymous authentication, feature flag / remote configuration, analytics for internal operations when enabled, and related infrastructure. In those Android builds, Firebase may process:
- Anonymous identifiers (for example, an authentication user ID)
- Device and app information (for example, device model, OS version, app version, language)
- Network information (for example, IP address) as needed to provide the service and help protect against abuse
If analytics is enabled in Android builds of the App, we may also send anonymous usage events for internal operations, such as:
- Screen views
- Content list views and collection selections
- Session start, completion, and early exit events
- Learning flow and content/runtime health events
These events may include app-generated identifiers such as session IDs, collection IDs, word IDs, counts, and durations. Child identifiers used for on-device progress tracking are not sent in Firebase analytics payloads.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate the App (including saving progress and settings)
- Configure features and support reliable app behavior
- Understand how the App is used so we can improve content, UX, and performance
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain the security and reliability of the App and connected services
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
For iOS App Store builds, the App is designed so those Firebase services are not used.
For Android builds, we may share limited information with service providers (for example, Google Firebase) only to operate the App’s services, including anonymous authentication, remote configuration, analytics for internal operations, and related infrastructure, and only as described above.
Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App does not include chat, social features, advertising, or user-generated content features.
We do not provide child user accounts, and our analytics implementation is designed not to send child identifiers used for local progress tracking to Firebase.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will work to delete it.
Your choices
- You can use the App without providing personal information.
- You can delete the App to remove locally stored data on your device.
Data retention and deletion
- On-device data: learning progress, session history, and parent settings are stored locally. Uninstalling the App deletes local data from that device.
- Android service data: Firebase-related service data (such as anonymous authentication, remote configuration, and analytics logs when enabled) may be retained according to our service provider settings and policies. If you want us to help delete data associated with Firebase identifiers used by the App, contact us at the email below.
- iOS service data: iOS App Store builds are designed not to use those Firebase services for app operation.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
